We named  “There Was a Girl,” the first single from Karen Mansfield’s new “Thistle + Boon” album, one of the best Jersey songs of 2017. Now, it’s time for the “Thistle + Boon” record release, Friday, April 6 at the Asbury Park Yacht Club on the boardwalk.

“This album is very special to me and consists of a collection of short stories taken from little pieces of my life, spanning the last 30 years,” said Mansfield via email. “From my parents divorce, my own love and loss, depression, life lessons learned, dangers encountered, risks taken, struggle, hope, joy and contentment — the album depicts the journey through life and finding peace.”
